Modern life is fast-paced, often chaotic and always busy. Adult life in the twenty-first century is demanding and necessitates multifaceted
identities each with a distinct set of demands. It’s hard not to end up ‘used up’, and all too easy to allow ourselves to slide to the bottom of our pile of priorities. Planning self-care is an important factor when taking ownership of your well-being. It forces you to reflect on your own needs and to prioritize them. Doesn’t that sound rather selfish? If you are concerned about appearing selfish you can stop fretting. The dictionary defines the word selfish as
