BUCKLE UP, THIS NEXT FEW WEEKS WILL BE BUMPY. BUT IT’S NOT GOING TO LAST FOREVER.

Hello there! Welcome to yet another season of change in your journey through parenthood. It’s a funny old thing this parenting isn’t it ? Whenever you start to believe that you’ve got it sussed and you finally know what you’re doing your offspring hit another developmental transition and the world turns upside down and you feel like everything is on it’s head again!

I totally understand where you are coming from here. My eldest is 21, my next is 19, then there’s a gap before a fairly evenly spaced gaggle of little people are aged between 5 and 13 years of age. We have seen NVQ exams, A-Levels, GCSE’s and SAT’s. My children have had mixed success, from distinction down to what they perceive to be complete failure (In reality, they just didn’t pass an exam. This is very different from complete failure). We’ve seen tears, tantrums and celebrations. But the most important thing to note here is that we have seen them all together, as a family. If one of us has a great success then we celebrate it together, and if a grade or target is missed then we also take the journey of missing our goals as a team fail. But again I…
